open source technologies applied to the issue of web application development,
using the Keel meta-framework as an enabler for integration.
Audience:
Intermediate to advanced Java™ developers, familiarity with JSP and XML helpful.

covering Struts, Cocoon, Avalon, Barracuda, JSTL, JSF, etc.
Xerces, Xalan, FOP, SVG and others.
- Avalon introduction, separation of concerns, inversion of
control, and components and services
- Avalon Containers, Configuration and Lifecycles
- Cross-framework integration
- Descriptive interfaces and implementations
- JMS and Messaging-based distributed applications
- Integration with J2EE Services, using JBoss as an example
- Services
- Persistence - JDO, JDBC, Entity EJB, LDAP, etc.
- Authentication: JAAS and custom authentication
- Presentation and User Interface: Struts, Cocoon and JSF
